Introduction to Missionary Photography and Video

As a missionary, you are in a huge variety of situations and locations. From the deepest parts of Africa to right down the street in your home town. The one thing that doesn’t change is, there are stories to be told and shown and you are in the best position to do just that.

Missionary photography and video is all about showing that God is alive and well and working in everyone’s life. It is through your creative storytelling ability that you can share what God is doing in the lives of others and yourself with your church, organization, or others who are interested.

We will walk you through everything you need to know to get high quality photographs and video that you can be proud of and is honoring to God.

We will be talking about equipment and why I suggest the equipment I do. We’ll discuss how to use your equipment effectively including settings techniques. We’ll work through what it takes to tell a story through your camera. We will also discuss photo end video editing software and how you can use them to your storytelling advantage.

Because I don’t know your skill level, I will start with the basics and work up to advanced techniques. If you are a pro photographer or videographer, you may want to select the more advanced classes and maybe review some of the intermediate ones.

You will also find these are pretty fast paced. As you gain knowledge and put it all to work, you will find your images and videos keep getting better. I can tell you for certain, after 50-years as a photographer, I am still learning and growing. I am glad of that because it would get pretty boring if you hit a pinnacle and had nowhere else to go!

So, with that in mind, I will get started on the rest of the classes. Also, check back often as I will constantly be adding to the classes and will start putting up online classes to go along with the written portions.

Enjoy and let’s show the world that God is alive and well.
