End Times Survival – First Thing To Pack
Browse through survivalist sites, prepper’s sites, or just about any other, “survive the last days” sites and you will inevitably find a list of things to do and items to have on hand in order to survive. Don’t get me wrong, these are all good things and we will do the same thing from a Christian perspective, but for now I would like to add the number one thing you should have on hand… Jesus!
We are not debating the rapture, when it will occur, or whether we will participate in the seven year tribulation. Regardless of these points, I believe we will still be involved in many horrific events. My point is, we shouldn’t bury our heads in the sand, rather, we should prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
In my opinion, it seems only logical that you would want to have a close relationship with the one who created and controls everything seen and unseen and ultimately has the final say in where you will spend eternity. We may not escape the coming problems, but I believe it is worth focusing on Jesus and ensuring our salvation.
Luke 21:14 But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. 15 For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.
In other words, Jesus will be with us through our hardships and as we are handed over to authorities, He will give us the words to defend ourselves. Here’s the problem: the Bible makes it clear that as Christians we are not exempt from the hardships to come. In fact, we will suffer some things that non-believers won’t! The difference is the ultimate outcome. Our faith in Christ guarantees eternity in Heaven.
As non-believers, you will still go through a lot of bad things, but you may have it better than Christians in the short term. The problem for you is in the end, your eternity is guaranteed to be… well… not in Heaven. God gave you that choice – it is entirely up to you to decide.
As you research some of the things I will be bringing up (and I hope you do research them), you will see some scary stuff. Ultimately, they have all been predicted in the Bible. Not necessarily how they would be accomplished but rather the ultimate outcomes.
For non-believers and believers alike… the Bible is the only source that has ever been 100% accurate in its predictions. No one else has come close. As time progresses, you will see these future prophesies happening faster and faster. Only Jesus can take your hand and walk you through what is to come. He is the only one that can give you the strength and guidance you need to prevail and ultimately spend eternity with Him. I can’t stress enough, you are designed for eternity in one place or another.
While Jesus tells us not to worry, these things have to happen, He also says to get ready. The bottom line: no matter what, don’t lose sight of who is in control.
So, number one on your packing list should be a Bible. No matter if you are a believer or not, the Bible will help you stay focused on Jesus or show you how to come to Him and ultimately have a relationship with Him – ensuring your eternal destiny will be Heaven. It will also help you see what is coming next through the many prophesies.
I don’t pretend to know the date or time. However, I can assure you, the time is near and this is not a time to ignore what is happening and how it relates to the Bible prophesies.
